Counselling

There are times in life when things begin to feel out of balance. You may be living with anxiety, feeling emotionally overwhelmed, experiencing difficulties in your relationships, or finding yourself caught in patterns that no longer serve you. At other times, there may be no clear reason at all, only a quiet sense that something needs to change.

Safe Space

At The Balance Practice, we offer a thoughtful, confidential space where you can slow down, speak openly, and feel genuinely listened to. As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young people, I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe enough to be yourself.

My Approach

My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. Rather than offering advice or assuming to know what is best for you, I work alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your individual experience. Together, we create a therapeutic space that allows for reflection, understanding, and lasting change.

Drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural (CBT) approaches, I tailor therapy to your unique needs. We may explore how earlier experiences continue to shape the present, gain insight into recurring emotional or relational patterns, and develop practical ways of navigating life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I believe that healing happens through relationship. When we feel truly seen, accepted, and understood, we begin to relate to ourselves with greater kindness and clarity. From that foundation, change you do not have to do it alone. When you are ready, we would be privileged to accompany you on that journey. becomes not only possible, but sustainable.

The other woman, with glasses and brown hair also in a bun, is facing her, possibly holding a notepad. There is a potted plant on a wooden stool beside them.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can become strained for many reasons. Communication may break down, trust may be challenged, or couples may simply find themselves feeling distant from one another.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy provides a safe, balanced space where both partners can feel heard.

  • “I felt comfortable from the very first session. I never felt judged or pressured to talk about anything before I was ready. Counselling gave me the space to understand what I was feeling and, over time, I began to see things differently. I feel more confident in myself and much clearer about what I need.”

  • “Counselling helped me understand why I was feeling the way I did rather than simply trying to push through it. I learned to be kinder to myself and to recognise what I actually needed. I feel much more confident now.”

    Peter

  • “I wasn't sure what to expect from counselling, but I felt at ease very quickly. I never felt pressured and always felt that I could talk at my own pace. It gave me a safe space to work through things and has helped me enormously.”
